Swedish Investors for Sustainable Development

Swedish Investors for Sustainable Development (SISD) explores the role of investors in the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Investors work side by side with a development agency on both pressing development issues and investment opportunities.

Swedish investors working together for the SDGs

SISD is a network that brings together some 20 of Sweden's largest asset owners, asset managers and institutional investors. The ambition is to contribute to more sustainable investments in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement through exchange of experience, learning and communication.

Aims to inspire other countries

SISD can be an inspiration to other countries and actors to work with investors and the private sector to achieve the SDGs. Financial actors, pension funds, asset managers and investment companies are important actors in achieving and financing the SDGs.

Goal and purpose

Network activities

The network meets a few times a year around different topics of interest, including operational level network meetings as well as CEO meetings. SISD also contributes to the international dialogue around the role of investors in the implementation of Agenda 2030 via its active participation in Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD) working groups.

SISD was part of the inspiration for the UN to form GISD, which is a group of leaders of major financial institutions and corporations from across the world. It is convened by the United Nations Secretary-General to deliver solutions that scale up private finance and investment to achieve the SDGs.

Joint commitment

The SISD partners have made a joint commitment to strive to invest in accordance with the SDGs.
